I literally get all of these 🙈 Reposted from @honestlyholistic When you suffer from chronic stress and anxiety, you may tense up your muscles without even realizing it.⁣ ⁣ In fact, as you are reading this now, pay attention to your body and where it feels tight. Your shoulders may be up around your ears, your jaw may be all clenched up, it’s our body’s unconscious reaction to anxiety.⁣ ⁣ This tension can manifest in many different ways, with pain, twitching and tightness being the most common, although remember, we are all unique and may experience it differently.⁣ ⁣ I used to experience incredibly painful muscles, especially in my neck and shoulders which then turned into tension headaches. ⁣ ⁣ Tension headaches can last for ages and health anxiety can make you start to worry you have a brain tumor or something, I have been there!⁣ ⁣ I also used to experience chronic twitching that always used to make me absolutely paranoid that I had a degenerative disease, it was awful.⁣ ⁣ I often get asked about brain zaps too so wanted to share again. A brain zap feels like a mini electric shock running through your head and has been linked to high stress but may also be a side-effect of certain meds so do always check with your doctor. ⁣ ⁣ Finding ways to consciously release your muscles, taking nice deep breaths throughout your day, taking a magnesium supplement, stretching, applying magnesium gel or having a long soak in epsom bath salts can all help to relieve tension. ⁣ ⁣ If you’d like to read my personal story with anxiety and how I finally started to manage my symptoms then find the links for my book in my bio.⁣ ⁣ I hope this post brings you some relief if you can relate to any of these symptoms.⁣ ⁣ 💌 Free newsletter: honestlyholistic.com/newsletter⁣ ⁣ 📚 Book: honestlyholistic.com/book⁣ ⁣ Affordable, unlimited online therapy: betterhelp.com/Tamryn ⁣ ⁣ 📱 join my text community!
