Reposted from @honestlyholistic Tension headaches are really uncomfortable and painful, and when you already suffer with anxiety you can quickly start to worry that something serious must be wrong. ⁣ ⁣ I used to fixate on every tiny physical sensation, so when I experienced random shooting pains in my head, pressure and tightness I used to think I had a brain tumour or was having an aneurysm quite honestly. ⁣ ⁣ Just writing this is something I couldn’t have done during my worst health anxiety. ⁣ ⁣ Tension headaches often start in the neck from chronically tight muscles and then end up as a tension headache. ⁣ ⁣ Anxiety causes our muscles to naturally tense up as a defense mechanism against a perceived threat, but of course it can be confusing when you are in no danger. ⁣ ⁣ You may be tensing all your muscles right now without even realizing it.
