Yesterday I rewatched Finding Nemo. It’s actually a great movie, even though I’m starting view myself as a “young adult”. I especially sympathized with Nemo 🐠 throughout the movie. He’s very cute and innocent, and he lives with his dad. Nemo’s mom was taken by a predatory barracuda fish. During this incident, Nemo was actually hurt. That’s why his one fin is small and frail. Because of this damaged fin, Nemo obviously struggles with swimming. He swims very awkwardly, and struggles to keep himself up. So, his dad is very afraid of him; he’s basically extremely overprotective and neurotic. Nemo struggles with his self-confidence, and wants to prove to his dad and friends that he can swim properly, so he takes on a challenge, and swims up to the surface, grazing the bottom of a boat. Suddenly, he is caught by some scuba divers. Basically, the movie is about his dad trying to find Nemo. On his journey, Nemo’s dad travels with this very annoying and borderline insane fish called Dory. Dory is a great character, and for some reason unbeknownst to me, Dory can read. Without Dory, they would never have found Nemo. So that’s basically it. Great movie, you’ll cry while watching it. Today, I want to watch this other Pixar movie called Cars.
