La Menzogna, in detail, Salvator Rosa, 1650. 

     After growing disgusted with comedy of his day along with the actor’s and audience thereof, he swore to a friend he was no longer having anything to do with it. During the early 1660’s Rosa’s work changed drastically. He began to focus on the then contemporary tragedies, as well as edifying biblical themes, and mythological ones in a correspondingly sober style. He utilized fewer colors, those of which were muted, and his art, save for a few, contained fewer figures.

Lily now ventures into a very dangerous place, into the dark unknown, but her curiosity is much greater than her fear, looking for something that will affect her, whatever it is. There is nothing worse than mental numbness, there is nothing to lose. I am preparing for you with a lot of new stuff in the second half of the year as well. I look forward to the spooky season really much; it’s no secret that new paintings and graphics will be made on this topic. Fall is always in the special corner of my heart, I think autumn is the best symbol of the change. Reliving the trauma and feeling like you’re right back in the horrific situations makes day to day life unpredictable because anything can be a trigger. It’s rough when you are unaware of a trigger until it happens. Any kind of loud, abrupt and unpredicted sounds are a trigger for me. I don’t like going to places like sports bars because of the abrupt yelling. A dog barking all of a sudden gives me anxiety. Tons of others can be hard to deal with. That’s just one of many triggers. I’m okay with consistent loud noises like a concert and so on. If you’d like to share triggers of your own, feel free.
